Tourism in Bangkok
I am so amazed with how a capital city like Bangkok can grow its tourism industry. When visiting this city, you will see tourists everywhere. I hope my city, Jakarta, can be like that one day.
What are the things to see, buy, and do in Bangkok?
These are my Top 3 of things that I would do again when visiting Bangkok, Thailand.
1. Shopping
I don’t really like shopping when travelling. It changed when I spent my birthday in this city last November, doing mostly shopping cheap clothes. Fancy clothes I can find in Jakarta, but nice cheap clothes, Bangkok is the place!

2. Eating Authentic Thai Food
If you’ve known me, I really like eating or trying eatable food I haven’t had before. Surprisingly it is not only the Thai food is the street hawkers that taste good, but the food in the shopping malls tastes yummy as well.

3. Meeting the Sharks of Bangkok
The 3rd thing I will do again in Bangkok is to see the sharks there. This one I will cover more in this post.

Sea Life Bangkok
The Location
I love underwater and I was so excited when finding this place. Ocean World Sea Life Bangkok is in the lower floor of Siam Paragon Shopping mall.
I found it after dinner in the food court. It was almost 7pm so I cannot spend longer than I wanted to. But I am thrill that I could visit this aquarium, the biggest one I’ve been to.
Bangkok Aquarium
We can call it Bangkok Aquarium, the huge one! What I love the most is when entering the Sharks tank. It’s unbelievable that I can see a tiger shark face to face. Unfortunately, I didn’t record this moment when it’s like the scene in The Meg movie. But of course, the shark is not that giant.
When you enter the Ocean World Bangkok, you’ll be welcomed by the Giant Spider Crabs. There are unbelievable huge!!!
Then you will see the cute seahorses hiding between the artificial corals. They are so cute! It is hard to find one when diving. But I can only dive till 18m.
Then you get to see these tiny shrimps as well as Scorpionfish, Lionfish, Moray Eels, and Coral Reef Fishes.
Then you can see a place where you can take a glass bottom boat and see the giant aquarium with sharks.
I continued walking and found these tiny Frogs (1-2 cm?) with exotic color of purple-ish navy-ish. Interesting 😉
Then there is an alley with Snakes displayed. After that you will arrive in the playroom where you can touch sea animals like Starfish. Here you can see Turtles as well.
After that you will see the Penguin area, and continue to a tunnel where this Shark Rays welcomed me.
Then I entered a big wall of aquarium where I spent most of my time there, watching the Sharks and Manta Rays swimming around. I really love it here!!
Scuba Diving in Bangkok
I don’t think there is any dive site near this city.
However, you can do scuba diving in this aquarium.
You can also dive with the sharks here.

Should you visit Ocean World in Bangkok?
Absolutely! Especially if you like underwater and sharks. Visiting Sea Life Bangkok and get to meet the sharks of Bangkok is one of the best birthday’s presents ever for me 😉
