My Stay in 2012 – like & dislike –

Happy New Year All.

Lets see some brief summary of my accommodation reviews in 2012, the blog stats development and my like & dislike.

THE STATS DATA

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2012 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

600 people reached the top of Mt. Everest in 2012. This blog got about 5,900 views in 2012. If every person who reached the top of Mt. Everest viewed this blog, it would have taken 10 years to get that many views.

As for the accommodation I like & dislike for year 2012.

DORMS – SHARED ROOM

I stayed in 5 dorms during my trip this year, two in Thailand: Lub Sbuy Guesthouse in Phuket –  The Rock Backpacker in Koh Phi Phi, one in Malaysia: Old Penang Guesthouse in Georgetown Penang, and the other two in Indonesia, Penginapan Ibu Lia in Tidung island Jakarta and Homestay from Putra Karimunjawa Tour in Karimunjawa island Central Java. And my choice for the best dorm room is Lub Sbuy Guesthouse cause of its cleanliness. My least favorite is the homestay from Putra Karimunjawa Tour. There is no ventilation in the room that shared with other 3 persons. It’s like sleeping in sauna.

HOTELS

I am not sure how to categorize the hotels but if it’s according to the roomrate I got, below is my choice:

for below USD 50/nite include breakfast, I stayed in 4 hotels in 2012. Two are in Thailand, Samui Mandalay Hotel in Koh Samui and Baan Talay Guesthouse in Koh Phangan. The others are in Indonesia/Bali, Fave Hotel in Seminyak and Pop! Kuta Hotel near Kuta beach. And my choice for the best one goes to Fave Seminyak Hotel cause of its comfy bed. It’s hard to get up once you get it ^^. My least fave would be Baan Talay Guesthouse cause the room is really basic with old furniture.

for above USD 50/nite include breakfast, I stayed in 4 hotels in 2012. All are in Bali, two are located in Legian Street (101 Legian Hotel and Kuta Lagoon Resort), one is near double six (Baleka Resort) and the other one is in Poppies Lane 2 (Bounty Hotel). And my fave is 101 Legian Hotel cause of its location and nice modern decor. I was amazed with their room decor that made it look so exclusive. While my least fave would be Kuta Lagoon Resort, the place I always wanted to stay but they treated me unpleasantly by asking if I was their hotel guest for more than 3 times.
