This is one of the hotels I always want to try since I stepped my foot on Poppies Lane 2. Why? First, it’s a Party Hotel. Secondly, because it gives free entrance to some clubs in Legian (Bounty, Paddy’s). This free entrance really benefit us, local traveler. It avoids us from entering to a boring club (can check how the crowds first) and from drinking cheap beer (as an exchange of the coupon). Third, location is perfect. Shops along the road. 5 min walks to Kuta beach, 5 min walks to Legian clubs. Easy to find cheap local food.
Unfortunately, I didn’t spend much time in the hotel but I noticed few things:
(+) the room is a bit damp, but clean.
(+) the staffs are nice and kind. They allowed me to check out at 12:00 instead of 11:00
(+ for me) DJ plays loud music till about 10pm near the pool bar. But I didn’t really hear it from my room, which one row distance from the pool.
(-) too many boys in the swimming pool that has swim-up bar
(-) the second swimming pool is under renovation
(-) there is traditional dance performance on Friday nite which you have to pay Rp.500,000 to watch it. I saw a glimpse of it on my way back to my room and there were boys dancing along, ruining that dance. What a shame!
(-) be ready to be asked for USD 100 as security deposit. I managed to get half of it after complaining, since I stayed there for only 2 days.
Will I stay again in this hotel? YES!!
Note: I was in Bali (again) last July and saw that they were doing renovation on the lobby.
